ARTIST STATEMENT

The finality of death elicits change for those that remain.

Recent personal events have informed my approach for this work ‘AWAKE’. Overcoming a melancholic mindset, I have expressed a sense of change rather than finality in life.

This work reflects an abstract notion of Memento Mori, the duality of life and death, change and stagnation, awareness and ignorance etcetera. This duality is ‘linked’ through the tufting forms; we cannot have one without the other.
