ARTIST STATEMENT

In my studio space I apply mindful attention to my process, it becomes a natural journey of discovery through the materials and tools. Shimmer is an abstraction of form, and the shine in the gold background hints to religious Iconography. The colours are chosen intuitively not consciously. It’s my expression of (reverent) energy, and the connection to, such energy. There is an imbued comfort in the work, through colour and texture, which may gift acquiescence to the viewer for repose amongst the current chaos of the world.
